Williams Sisters Are One Step From Family Reunion in Final

WIMBLEDON, England — The Williams sisters are back in the semifinals at Wimbledon, and another intrasquad final looks quite likely. But the company they are keeping at this rarefied stage of tennis’s most traditional tournament is certainly unexpected.

No. 5 seed Elena Dementieva, with her suspect serve, has never been at her best on grass, and little more than two weeks ago she sustained a psychological blow at the French Open that might have sent a weaker character into an extended tailspin. Unseeded Zheng Jie of China was ranked 133rd coming into the tournament and required a wild card from the All England Club to gain entry.
